In a week of furious campaigning by the various candidates, one man stands apart from the others, the only ne to actively serve as part of the Ascendancy FEF, Ryker Washington has a few things to say about the future…..
For all of living memory Fortitude have been in a constant state of attack and war, not only against the HIVE and surface tribes but against our own people. In this new age it is time for a change of strategy, to reconstitute and reconstruct Fortitude. Though this will be an effort largely lead by Sciences and Engineering the military will be there to support and protect. We are not the leaders of Fortitude anymore and we should be making steps to ensure there is an equal balance of power between all departments, letting those that know best take the lead. While conflict will always be in the purview of the military, we should let engineers take the lead in their own matters such as the repair and upkeep of the bunker and what should be prioritised; and bureaucrats should lead negotiations with foreign groups and powers.
It would be my intention to lead the Fortitude military in securing our bunker and recapturing the sections lost to the HIVE. Once our home is safe, we can look to securing the land on the surface we need for survival and growth in a time where we don’t pillage and plunder for all we need. And it is my promise that in all these efforts committed from the military I will be there to lead from the front.
The Ascendancy has done us a great service in supporting our turn from a dictatorship into a democracy but now it is our choice on how to direct ourselves. I cannot speak for how the other departments will take on this relationship, but it would be my plan to negotiate a mutual support agreement wherein neither of us will be beholden to the other, but we will support each other in dealing with HIVE Vulcan and other threats that attack us at our homes. We all must understand that while we are an independent bunker and a force to be reckoned with, we are stronger when united.
