Making a character.
You can create and maintain your character here:
By default there is a choice of 5 character classes at the moment (with more coming soon). These are all inhabitants of Bunker Ascendant, and will come from one of the following classes below. But there are also other options now available due to the ongoing development of the game world, including members of other Bunkers, surface dwellers and Psionics. Details of these can be found in the latest rulebook.
Bureaucrat

One thing has never changed, even with the death of 99.998% of the human populace (and yes that figure was released by a bureaucrat). Politics and bureaucracy are a part of everyday life in the Bunker, and potential stars of the future have no problem with joining FEFs to gain popularity. Although most FEF combat personnel would rather shoot them on sight, these pen pushers and policy makers are useful in negotiations and contractual matters.
Engineer

The equipment housed within Bunker Ascendant is maintained by the select few that have passed the required knowledge and skills along. Engineers guard their skills jealously, and to be taken on as an apprentice is a great honour. Field Engineers are a staple requirement in any FEF, as equipment fails and unstable tech is encountered.
Medic

When bullets fly, or close combat is entered, the Medic’s skills within an FEF will be tested. Dealing with all types of lethal and non-lethal injuries, infection and radiation poisoning, an able minded Medic ensures the safe return of all.
Soldier

Trained in the art of combat and military tactics. The Soldier is the mainstay of any F.E.F. (Freelance Expeditionary Force) and is able to acquisition the deadliest of the arsenal that Bunker Ascendant has to offer. Although mortality rates aren’t all that hot, the girls (and guys) love to hear war stories.
Once you have chosen your profession, you will have 20 experience points and 1,000 credits to spend on your starting character. This information can be found in the Player’s Guide, which can be downloaded here.
Each of the professions has a group page on Facebook, so if you need any help feel free to join the group and ask!
Stricken (Surface Tribals)

In addition to the Bunker Professions, you can also play a member of the various surface dwelling “Stricken” there are many different tribes or clans, each with its own look, feel, and personality. From expert trackers and survivalists The Forest Wraiths, to the pre-fall culture obsessed Winterborne, there is something for everyone.

If you have any questions, please ask on the Facebook group or drop us an Email.
Using the Website
The HASC website has both Out of Character and In Character functionality. Registering your character will give you access to your profession’s Info Hub, giving privileged information such as profession specific objectives and issues.
When you make an account here you will input your in character name, profession and biography. Ideally you should add a photo too. This doesn’t need to be in your character kit to begin with (Bunker residents do wear civvy clothes!) but if we have your pic it will appear on your ID badge provided at the event.

Another really important resource is the FEF Database, accessed via the menu system. This WIKI style collection contains all the reports, guides and information compiled from the players and is invaluable in learning more about the world you will be entering. And you can submit your own articles. A standard payment of 100 credits is given in character for any submitted and approved articles.
Lastly, you can check out other players in the FEF Member Database. Useful for IDing your council member and generally getting an idea of who is who!
Playing your first event
Attending a new LARP can be daunting, even a low numbers event such as HASC. If you join the Facebook group and your profession group, this is an excellent way to meet some of your new in game colleagues, break the ice and learn from their experience.
Before time-in on the Friday, a basic briefing is given on the combat rules and use of the TAG equipment – how to fight, how to die ( 😀 ) and how to heal others. This is also another opportunity to ask any last minute questions. Should you miss this briefing don’t worry; the GMs will ensure you are briefed before you enter play.
Your Council Members are all experienced players and will also help with anything they can in character.
