The Surface sucks. I mean it. It really really sucks. Don’t get me wrong there’s plenty up there to excite. A never ending sky, trees, grass. It’s everything the tutorials said it would be. But there’s so so much more. No one tells you about the pain of a bullet going through your face, blowing the back of your head out. And the the terrible searing pain and panic that follows as the nanites attempt to replace everything that was there previously.

Operation 7 After Action Report – Principle Engineer Vasili Komaroff
So this is a weird one to write. I have spent the best part of 2 years under the control of a new strain of a Hive Virus, code named Pandora. I will detail that experience in a separate report, but suffice to say it was fucked up.
So i showed up during a protest being led by Rory, members of the “500” feel like they
Surface report Elwood Brenner
A report on surface activities from the point of. Elwood Brenner – FEF Soldier
I travelled to the surface today. No one warned me how big it is up here. I don’t like it tho I’m sure that will pass. It’s disconcerting going from underground tunnel life to the vastness of open sky nd open ground. I have felt my first natural breeze and seen the sun and the moon. Natural light takes some getting used to as well the shadows seem different somehow.
I travelled up with Jacob an aspiring engineer and Heimlich all of us Clan Brenner. Can’t wait to see Joe, Mastiff and Napoleon. I’m sure they are makin the most of being out from under Old Ma’s feet and cane.
Somethings weird , I’ve arrived at the outpost called Dahls Place and everyone except Dahl (he’s AI) looks like they’ve survived a natural disaster or being run over by a heavy loader. You know the sort of look you get when you win the bunker lotto and then the tax man takes a big old bit out of it only they haven’t taken 20 percent they’ve taken the whole thing and then assessed you for back taxes.
I found out why it’s like a morgue here. It literally is…. turns out my clan brothers Joe and Mastiff and 9 others were killed by hive scum at what has been dubbed the Factory Massacre.
I swear by Ma’s right hook I have a world of vengeance for the hive.
I’ve met up with Napoleon he’s been made acting surface council member. So some plus at least.
Ive been listening to plans being made and have volunteered for a couple of missions.
Mission reports.
Mission 1 : Dahl and the council have found a hive transmission nexus or summink. They reckon that it’s where the signal to the newly assimilated is coming from. Plan is to gain access to the site and upload some sort of code thing that’ll flip the minds of them newly hived and send em against their new bosses. This should mess up 6months of their work and mean a lot less to fight through on other missions.
We left under cover of darkness. Sneaking our way past patrols. I never realised how far sound travels. Growing up in bunker with 8ft ceilings you get used to a certain sounds and the way it travels. In the outside in a forest at night you can hear a mouse fart from a mile away. Breathing is deafeningly loud and you worry the hive will pick it up and you’ll be hitting the loud button on your rifle.
Anyways we made it through the patrols with a few close calls. Worst was when the rifles shut down into idle mode the bleeps sounded like thunderclaps in the darkness.
We snuck up on that facility and made ready to charge.. on charge we leap forward like pressurised coolant into an empty pipe. That strange one with the sword flowed like a shadow and cut em down. Jacob and that Vasili bloke unlocked the door and went in I figured there’d be resistance so with others looking outward for enemies I stuck my back against a tree and aimed for head height in the middle of the portal. Sure enough gunfire erupted and Jacob and Vasili backed out then this freakish hive thing followed and I blew its brains out (others may have helped).
We uploaded the virus and booked.
Mission 2 : Distraction in action.
This is gonna be simple they reckon. They done a deal with Raze (king of the free people’s or whatever) for his guys to distract the majority of the hive forces. Our objective is a more localised distraction to clear an entry path for the other team to the facility that is our main objective. A hive node I think.
We sneak past a few patrols so as not to alert the rest of the hive. Turns out they are like a hive mind and if you attack some it’s likely the rest will know.
We set up on the top of a ridge and wait for out target patrol to arrive then on the bosses signal we light em up. Wave after wave of the hive scum. Most of em thick as ma’s right arm coming straight at us. Then this shiny headed big thing comes lumbering out of the woods. Boss man shouts to slow it but not kill it as it’ll explode. We fight more and more of them, slowing it down keeping it occupied. Eventually it’s up the top of the path with us. I get a shot or two in then jump behind a bush. It forgets me and shoots out at others. When it’s not looking I jump, back up and empty a full clip from my AR into its head reload and do another. It falls over and I think I’m gonna get blowed up. Turns out I only wounded it and didn’t kill it cos instead of exploding it twitches for a bit then gets onto its knees. Bleeping and saying out of ammo in a high pitched whiny voice.
The bleeping must of worked as more hive came looking and we fought them as well, numbers are starting to tell attrition is taking out more and more of my squad. People are running left and right with ammo refill boxes and the one healing box we have left. The ex councillor Beth is with us and she’s been doing most of the healing. She’s gone to heal one of us and the box is empty. She gets shot in the back whilst trying to rapid refill the box. WE HAVE NO HEALING. Another one of us stabilises her and then me when I get hit trying to guard them we hunker down as the node thing is making bleepy countdown noises. I’m thinking I’m gonna be drinking beer with Joe and Mastiff when like a fiery vengeance Heimlich comes flying past and takes the rest of the wave out and guards all of our backs as we crawl out of hell into the light. My brother guards our sorry arses back to base and we grab a well earned beer.
On the debrief turns out we musta done our jobs as Scans report we pulled away 25percent more hive then was expected.
Its crazy up here but I kinda like it I’ll be heading whenever I can.
Signing off

Short report of mission 2, Max
I was in Dahl’s Facility at the radio control centre whilst the mission was occurring. I was listening to the radio chatter as usual whilst doing paperwork. The reception this weekend hasn’t been great, maybe it was the rad storms, but there seemed to be more static and interference than usual.
The mission proceeded as normal, I believe there was a standard tactical party split to take the factory however there seemed to be far more enemy combatants than expected, and the fight was not going well, with many operatives injured and in need of medical assistance.
At this point I heard FEF members outside of the control centre and I met Major Hook, John Fox and a few others. I informed them that I believed the mission was having difficulties, and 3 or 4 operatives, mostly soldiers I believe, started gearing up to go and assist if they could.
Back at the centre I used the radio to inform the mission that a few reinforcements were on the way.
I am unfortunately unsure of the exact order of the following events, I shall minute radio communications in the future.
Drone support had been requested, I believe by Quinn, and they did arrive and assist.
As I understood the chatter, Major Hook and the others were able to get to the scene and assist.
Some operatives, Engineer Decker was named, were believed to have died having been injured and without assistance for too long.
The operatives, with Major Hook and the others then resumed the original objectives.
Despite the assistance and drone support the enemy defensives at the factory were too substantial and the team fell trying to achieve the mission objectives.
The only operatives to return were those who had been unable to make it to the factory and had returned to the command centre prematurely.

#OP7 Operational Briefing – Operation “Radiation”
Current Situation
As #OP6 participants will be aware, a new Nanite production facility has been located. Without this facility, Bunker Ascendant’s ability to create ammunition and medical nanites will remain crippled, and we will be unable to maintain our defences in any meaningful fashion. If Bunker Fortitude was to resume it’s offensives, Bunker Ascendant would fall. Likewise, it is possible the Free People would even reconsider our alliance if they knew of our current vulnerabilities.
