Bloody Rain -Field Report

Here is my report on the mission that failed.

So here it goes the best I can do is explain how it all started and then how things went from there.

So initially there was a vote to take and hold the area where some dismantling of some hardware/electronics who knows what but something that might have given us a boost technology wise, this would be a hard push as it was heavily defended. Or we could push forward to an ambush point and stop an attack on a current psionic refuge camp which would give us the advantage. (we would gain the upper hand as we would have time to set up due to them taking the time to dismantle whatever the tech stuff was and then push on to the camp was the sum of the talks as I understand it )

The vote was cast and the ambush won out due to a number of us feeling we were not equipped with enough fire power to take something head on.

It was at this point, and I forget who initially put the option out there that we could mortar the held position with a precise strike and there for weaken them, quickly another vote was cast, and mortars swayed the vote to push for the tech instead of the ambush, the vote was done so off I went.

Now it’s at this stage I don’t really pay much attention to what is going on as it’s mainly some shooting and killing and shouting so I will let some solider tell you about all that shit, what I will tell you is Aegis agents and free people were killed but this was from both sides engaged in a gun fight and mostly they shot first.

Once all that was out the way we came upon the correct distance for spec ops people to give precise locations on the mortar strike and some back and forth was had between people there as to when to call it and whatever else the spec Opps people do, my only input was if your doing a mortar strike the call should be “ scorched earth “ but that’s more my thing than there’s.

So calls went over the radio and a few minutes later I was knocked off my feet thrown a good distance back along with everyone else as what I can only describe as a large shock wave blow through us and I could taste the change in the air almost immediately, the air was toxic with radiation just a hint of it due to me being all juiced up on patches (

on a side not it’s the only way to travel on the surface, I feel sorry for poor people not being able to just have it all going at once, it’s a shame but hey what can you do )

So anyway I picked myself up took a deep breath because I could and then decided to put my gas mask on also just to rub it in really, and I followed on after the now frantic team to figure out what just happened ( now I was confused by this because I knew what happened, you see mortars are not precise at all. If you took a hand full of stones and just threw them up in the air you could not guess were a single one would land, you could say an area and get some but not all, now turn those stone into small exploding things and there you go it’s Scorched Earth. Now the thing I was a little confused over was the shock wave but I assume something went bang but at the time who knows what, I know Aegis basically build self defence stuff into all the tech so maybe that went bang.

Now a lot of people died in that explosion, I don’t believe anyone there on the day would have called that strike if they had known it would cause a catalyst that would leave so many dead behind, but it happened so we have to talk about it and I’ll explain my experience because that’s all I can really do.

So upon entering the clearing everyone else had taken positions of cover as there was enemies firing down upon the area. I was asked to dive into a crater and start scanning, I did this because I was asked to so dived in as I was under fire and already grazed by a few shots.

What I dived into was a pile of body parts, not bodies just a soup of guts and brains with stumps and meat all mixed in, bullets still raining down on me I had a flash of my times long forgotten before fear for my life kicked in but all of a sudden a dark shadow loomed over me and I could see I was protected by Frank with his shield held high and his head poking out to the side taking the odd bullet ( im not sure that’s in his training ) this hero stood over me while I ponder to myself why the FUCK am I being asked to scan people soup it baffles so much I simply lay there pumping healing into myself and Frank which we could have done till these enemies were out of ammo with ease there was no danger of that ( im rich ). After what seems like a longer time than was fair for me to stay there the call to pull out was made and we did so still under fire and very baffled as to what exactly was a achieved by what we just did, most people broken by the incident and horror show left behind and alittle sad knowing that if we just went with the first vote then none of this would have happened and I would have never had to roll around in a crater full of body parts.

All in all i regret the situation that took place, maybe I should have walked away after the second vote was cast but I didn’t I said I would go with whatever the majority vote was so im as much to blame as everyone else for this tragedy.

Anyway have the credits sent to my medical bay
