Immediate North West – Intel Update – Sally Fields

The Pennines, and the cults. 

There has been much talk about going to the North West and I just wanted to pull together all the images and information I have about the area immediately to the North West

This is a transmission from the early days of Bunker Ascendant being on the surface.

It was found on a partially destroyed padd that was found at the top end of mutant space. It likely has been used as trade salvage which is why it has made its way to Mutant territory. Crow was able to hack through the encrypted database to get to the information recorded in the last surface mission before winter.

The recon team is very specific about the dangers in the area. They confirm human presence who retreat from contact in the Pennine area. Members of their team are eaten by cannibals after their crat tried to talk to the people they see and there does appear to be a controlling element to the whistling sounds they hear, as people from the team disappear and towards the end Angela Lopez, the scientist who has completed the log, seems to be swayed by the voices as she says at the end “ faithful, no more fear, no more hunger the earth provides, we are faithful.”

Another set of information comes from Citadel while he was still with us. He told me that there were 4 US/UK Nightfall marine bases that he knew of. One base in the Pennines, one in Lincolnshire at the steel works, one in the Megamind area to the nw of Hive Ares and one in Derby 

Many more investigations are needed to ascertain what is actually happening in this area but we should be very wary of rushing in before putting precautions in place to deal with the dangers that have been described here.

Fission Fuel Availability

With the advent of fission fuel powered weapons, the Council has agreed to release a very limited amount of Fission Fuel for sale to the FEF.
This is an unrestricted Engineering Item and costs 500 credits.
Note that this price will likely change between #Ops due to demand and supply.
At this time, Council permission is required for purchase. Your requirements, and justification for purchase, should be Emailed to lee.long@live.co.uk
We are aware that your fuel may require further refining to suit your requirements.
(OOC the ‘litre’ of fuel may be refined to be a less amount of liquid. For all intents and purposes it is still a litre’s supply of fuel)

Tribal Negotiations

Good morning fellow professionals.
As you will know from the recently released FEF briefing, it is the intention of the Council to enter into negotiations with the Free People as to access and ownership of the lands until recently occupied by the Hive.
The primary objectives of the Council in these negotiations are as follows:
1) Secure access to, and ownership of, the recently discovered facility.
2) Secure sector J8 to enable suitable settling of our people on the surface, should repaired to the Bunker systems fail.
The secondary objectives are:
1) Secure sectors to support the success of Sector J8.
2) Secure at least 50% of the contested territory.
It has been agreed with Raze and the Mournival that the territory is currently off-limits until the FEF remobilise. Should any evidence of this agreement being violated be revealed, use this info as you wish but ensure the Council is informed.

It is the wish of the council that peaceful co-operation with the Free People continues, but this should not be at the expense of the Bunker’s best chances at survival and expansion.
I shall be available via normal Comms channels during your negotiations should it be needed.

Communication to FEF Members re: #Op3

A statement from the Council Ascendant follows…
“Members of the Freedom Expeditionary Forces, we salute you.
Our drones have scoured Hive lands for the last 12 hours and all they can find are corpses. It would seem that defeat of the Hive Lord Apollo brought about the end of the entire Hive. A monumental effort by the FEF as a whole, spearheaded by the Soldiers and Engineers, secured this incredible victory.
For the first time since we emerged onto the surface, we can take time to breathe the air and look around and appreciate our surroundings.
Thanks to the ongoing efforts of FEF Diplomats, we continue to build relations with Raze, the Mournival and the Free People as a whole.
The Disease ravaging the Free Peoples, identified as originating from an FEF member, has now been dealt with. Drones have spread the cure and vaccination to the Free People’s lands. Without the sterling work of our Medics and Scientists, this would not have been possible.
It would seem now that our greatest challenges lie within. Due to the actions of the terrorist Gideon, and despite the valiant efforts of FEF Engineers, 17 members of our already beleaguered engineering team lie dead and approximately 1/3 of the Bunker lies uninhabitable. We have over 500 people on the surface, living in an unknown environment and deposed of their homes by a mad man.
These people came under direct threat from the Hive; the thought of Bunker personnel being transformed into these horrific creatures sickens us, and we once again thank the vigilant members of the FEF for preventing any of the Hive breaking through your lines.
For your efforts these past few days, we offer payment of 500 credits, plus a bonus of 250 credits for completing your Department Objectives.

Any reporters will receive a supplemental payment of 150 credits, once the report is verified.

#Op3 – Department Objectives

As you are all no doubt aware, the Hive are placing a serious threat on the continued existence of both the Tribes and Bunker Ascendant in recent weeks. Frenzied, random and easily repelled attacks have now given way to a strong and committed assault on our lines in what appears to be a concerted effort to completely break our resolve.
On top of this, an illness now also ravages the Free People.
Whilst the above tasks will fall to other departments, we need to deal with the very real threat of the Free Peoples turning on the Bunker and/or each other. We have observed dozens of refugees passing through Outpost 13 talking of anger, resentment and fear within their settlements, all pointed at Raze and Ascendant.
It falls to us to bring this under control and prevent an escalation.
We also have an internal issue with purified water supply, meaning that we are struggling to honour our trade agreement. A negotiation to reduce the supply by at least 20% is required.

Investigative Task

It has become painfully apparent that at least 1 group is active within the Bunker that seeks to subvert or undermine the leadership of the Council and the unity that until recently we have enjoyed.
We are aware that the ex-council member Davis Rhodes has links to a group of some kind within the Bunker that led him to instigate the prison break last November.
We are also aware of a Hacker calling himself ‘Gideon’ interfering with a recent routine maintenance operation and leading to the deaths of a dozen Bunker personnel.
The Council requests that you bring forward any information that could lead to this group and individual being brought to task.
We also encourage you to investigate these goings on further should you feel you are able to make progress on our behalf.
