Fundamentally my candidacy has been brought about for 3 reasons
1 FEF terms of engagement and protection of officers on duty
2 how we deal with expanding and bringing other entities into the Ascendancy. ( in short do we want to be outvoted)
3 looking ahead beyond the daily struggle for survival ( we need a plan, a guide )
To expand on the points above
Protecting the FEF
As a result of the problems experienced by the FEF concerning our terms of engagement (in other words the debacle involving Councillor Sally Fields (a.k.a. Warcrimes Fields) and the subsequent trial of numerous members of the FEF including ME -Sicknote). We need to make decisions about the trust placed in the FEF on an operational day-to-day basis
I would remind you that the penalty for what we were charged was death or exile to the surface !
All for doing our job as we perceived it correctly at the time !
It is neither just nor equitable to place members of the FEF in morally ambiguous positions where very profound but also rapid decisions have to be taken.
We must primarily define our terms of service to the Ascendancy and to protect the individual FEF members.
And this is brought about from the anger and confusion experienced by FEF members following the sequel to the mission referred to above.
Where a member of the FEF acts in good faith The bunker should support and protect them rather than prosecuting. Anything less than this undermines the day-to-day effectiveness of the FEF (in the context of the situation concerning Warcrimes Fields should we have just released the hostages to continue to spread their vile poison in the community, or as was subsequently suggested should we have asked, permitted, or not noticed when a Tribal member of the FEF killed them behind our back. Tribal law is different.
Does the Bunker really want the FEF to be operating in a devious underhand manner to achieve objectives. The answer must be A resounding no therefore we need to have proper protection under our legal system which is fit for the present environment.
There are huge inconsistencies in our system of governance.
Bunker law was established at a time when we lived cheek by jowl in a closed community this no longer applies to FEF teams on the surface
From testing public opinion the answer is no it doesn’t work and we need to revise it.
2 Following on from the Warcrimes Fields issue why is it that each member of the FEF Who was charged with murder was left to their own devices to defend themselves against these accusations. They should be offered and given the best competent representation. They cannot and should not be left to their own devices to defend themselves against a bureaucratic monster
3 What do we do to look after damaged FEF members both physically and mentally?
Nothing
Well we should ! We need life and limb insurance for all who serve in or with the FEF …. To look after them in their hour of need after they have been hurt in their service it’s the least that you would expect for your husband, wife, son, daughter.
Although I have had the opportunity to speak to many members of the FEF I’m conscious that I haven’t had a chance to hear everybody’s voice therefore what I want to know is what does the FEF want
2 Voting rights in an expanded Ascendancy
I have ventilated this issue several times because it is something we must look at before it’s too late. (We have encountered several different ideas of how to inhabit the surface for example the Victorians I’m not a people who I would wish to emulate)
How do we protect our position as the source of the Ascendancy Philosophy. As we draw more and more entities into our orbit (as it is an appealing environment) how do we ensure that on basic democratic voting principles we are not forced into a position of doing something that we don’t like don’t approve of or with which we have moral issues. Would you want to be in a position where we could not prevent Something happening because we were out voted.
This is what leads to a civil war and a breakup. And without doubt in this hostile environment there is huge benefit in size
We need to protect the Ascendancy values as the core of the New Civilisation.
I don’t have all the answers but I can say that there are lots of ways of doing it one way would be by having an Ascendancy veto ( this is sometimes called a golden vote)
To join an expanding Ascendancy any new parties would have to agree to this process.
Why should we allow ourselves to be outvoted In an organisation which we initiated?
We would have to be pretty stupid to allow that to happen
3 A plan, a five-year plan, something that sets out a vision but is flexible.

Change is upon us
Change what a horrible word and an even worse concept !
Do you remember those great days in the bunker when our needs were met and the doors were firmly closed
Those days before the DAMAGE
Before the starvation
Before the 500 were expelled
In those days we had certainty
Before the Hive
Before FEF deaths on black Saturday
Before our struggle with Fortitude
Now what do we face
Change
An expanding Horizon on the world CHANGE
New and more deadly foes CHANGE
Both outside the bunker AND within CHANGE
So what do we do ?
So many choices
To negotiate with the Victorians ?
To deal with Eli of Aegis with all that implies ?
To keep on expanding ?
These are discussions that we need to have.
Why ?
Because we have through hard work and sacrifice got over the immediate issue of Day to day survival.
That does not mean that we are “safe”.
We live in a paranoid making hostile environment.
We are not in some throwback to a 21st-century provided for you state. We are still struggling to survive.
Less than 10% of the banker inhabitants have served on the surface in the FEF.
Everybody matters particularly because our population is in decline, we don’t breed enough and too many FEF members in the breeding age group 20 to 30s die on the surface.
I’ve requested the figures from Ace as again this is something that has not been addressed previously because we’ve been too busy scrambling for survival.
We need to become more family orientated we need children it may sound trite but they really are our future.
You may look at my manifesto and say so what does Sicknote want to do, I don’t see lots of promises to do things, to deliver, to make changes.
I’m not promising tangible gains bat what I do you promise is to start a proper conversation about where we are going and have that directed by what we actually want to achieve
Rather than stumbling steps forward into what looks to me like an abyss of population decline and or domination by other factions because we didn’t preserve our voting power at the right time.
