Field report – Napoleon Brenner – 19/04/2523
April 2523, myself, Vlad, Vasili, Bobby and Nero were tasked to capture and scan a Hive Vulcan but interestingly on the way we bumped into a Hive Patrol with captives.
They weren’t captives for long and we introduced ourselves to members of a new tribe “The Pact”.
This Tribe, who’s land extend out from sector Z7 have had no contact with any other surface folk except Hive Vulcan.
In their own words, they stay away from Vulcan lands and Vulcan leaves them alone.
On later examination of the Vulcan we destroyed we discovered references to the settlement and conjecture lead us to believe that this tribe were being left alone by Hive Vulcan to utilise at a later date as and when needed (a backup resource).
As the tribe had no immediate threats they had a pacifistic philosophy and were run by a council rather than a warlord.
After discussion with them they agreed for me to carry out a medical scan and to take a blood sample which i have done, sample is currently in Rybeck Medical Centre. Scan is below.
The fact that this tribe has not yet evolved the radiation resistance prevalent in the other Tribes possesses the question, does radiation mutation of the genetic code allow the Hive to convert a subject easier if they have progressive mutations? A theory i have devised is that perhaps this tribe was left as a back up, is that their dna would be harder for the Hive Virus to manipulate as it hasnt already been damaged by radiation.
In anycase i believe this is something that Dr Shannon is focusing on, im alot more interested in comparison between the genetic coding similarities between the know tribes and this new one.
Perhaps i could find the specific mutations that the other surface tribes have that provide a resistance to surface radiation. If i could, then the next step would be to apply a nanite … anyway I get carried away here.
