You may have seen the recent article from Sophie Jones stating the FEF is a failure.
While I am not qualified to refute all the points raised nor comment on ongoing operations, where FEF operatives may be disadvantaged in the extreme, I can address some of the inaccurate premises upon which the incorrect conclusions of the article have been based.
The FEF project is a failure
Finally, radiation levels on the surface are at a level safe for us to journey above. The FEF, a division of specialists compromising of soldiers, engineers, medics, scientists and bureaucrats was tasked by the council to scout the surface so that we could bring an end to the nightmare. They would be able to bring an end to the dwindling resources and to find a place we could call home. However, since its inception over a year ago, FEF have done nothing to bring our dreams into fruition and have, instead, brought more harm to the people of the Bunker Ascendant.
The FEF project was activated early following the murder of Governor Michael Rells and the subsequent Prison break, our mission at the time was to investigate this crime and capture or eliminate the escaped prisoners that would prove a threat to the bunker, and incidentally confirm if we were able to survive upon the surface, my report on the mission is located here
You will see we did eliminate a great number of bratva indeed here is a picture of one of the gang leaders taken down by myself:

It was at some cost to the FEF as Private Sellings was KIA.
The first expeditions brought us into contact with The Hive. ….My sources indicated that the FEF was in disagreement in how to combat The Hive. The soldiers simply wanted to shoot the numberless Hive until their guns ran dry whilst others wanted to take it out at the source, the AI itself.
So operations 2 and 3 did indeed encounter the Hive, there was however no disagreement into how to combat the hive, it is never in the FEFs mind to fight until the ‘guns run dry’ this makes no tactical sense, the misunderstanding by the journalists here is to do with the appearance of a type of hive construct that could only be slain by beheading, guns would take it down, but it would proceed to reconstitute itself a short time later unless you got down and dirty with a knife it was bad times, again here is a shot of FEF Members, and Council candidates Hook and Quinn, taking down one of the hideous sentinels with a double team knife attack:

As the FEF were too busy arguing amongst themselves, The Hive were able to take advantage over the infighting and march to our very gates and assault the bunker.
Here again the journalist do not appreciate the full severity of the situation, the FEF were fully aware of the Apollo construct and again the noble heroes of the Medical, Science and Engineering teams worked tirelessly to come up with a counter to the seemingly unstoppable power of Apollo and his hive. It is a fact that hive territory covered a full fifteen (15) grid squares on the map and the surge of living dead constructs was thought to be unstoppable and only the brave forces led by Quinn were able to hold up the onslaught of the Hive while a team led by myself and Maverick cut off the head of the beast with the aforementioned technology developed by our comrades. you can read the full report of this operation here

Although the threat was stopped by killing the AI, this threat to the bunker should not have occurred and could have been avoided if the FEF was under the direct control of a strong and unified leadership.
As we see this assumption is drawn from incorrect source data and the unified FEF teams were decisive, courageous and effective in action.
In April and June last year, we had two major catastrophes in Bunker Ascendant … e sent our very own FEF to fix the problem so that we could breathe a little while longer. However, not once but twice did our engineers fuck up the repairs which led to our people being either vaporised. ……The damage was so great that we lost critical areas which included farms, power generators and even living space. We could no longer support the entirety of the Bunker and the Council made the difficult choice to exile 500 men, women and children to the wasteland to ensure that the rest of the Bunker survived.
This is partially true, however it was not an error on the part of my noble colleagues in the engineering team, they were directly opposed by the bunker itself in the form of a computer AI called Giddeon, it seems obvious now the robotic voice on the benny hoffer calls, however bunker led missions to apprehend this terrorist were unsuccessful and only the very recent actions of the FEF have removed the threat of the benevolent yet ruthless Gideon programme putting the power of our own lives back in our own hands. Well done Laker and Soap!
We have encountered survivors on the surface. They are known as The Free People…. under the sway of a tribal leader known as “Raze.” The encounters with The Free People have been amicable and we have provided supplies and help every time they ask. The FEF even saved the life of their leader.
This is true and without the allies of the free people we would not have secured the basic farming knowledge and resources we need for survival and expansion, our bureaucrats have done sterling work here and the jokes we make about the rabbit have been blown out of all proportion. The Rabbit in question has provided extremely useful scientific data however the real gem of that trade was the research into Rad potatoes and the follow up research in increasing our resistance to radiation indeed a very useful presentation explaining the work is located here
My sources also tell me that the FEF are simply sitting on the information and technology acquired in their expeditions.
As we have seen this simply does not follow from the work completed on Rail technology, radiation improvements and the securing of C7 fuel production facilities, while in a state of constant war first against the hive and more recently the forces of bunker fortitude.
That we could rely on an organisation that works autonomously outside of the confines of the Bunker and the reach of the Council to lead our people into reclaiming the world was a foolish idea. The FEF are inexperienced, greedy and have fallen into petty bickering.
This conclusion can not possibly follow from the premises laid out as above, in debate lies innovation in structured conflict we examine the weakness of our own collective position and can strengthen before we are exploited by our foe. The FEF have worked, are working and will continue to work for the betterment of all, yes we have some issues with supply however in my view you support those at the front as they know best what is coming and blaze the trail for those that follow, to put it into context when on patrol in a tunnel you do not ask the person at the back for their view on the best way to proceed you rely upon those that can see the path and make the decision in a quick and agile way.
Strong leadership is needed to reel them in to ensure that they do carry out their mandate reclaim the world for Bunker Ascendant.
This makes no sense! Strong leadership is needed to reel them in to ensure that they do carry out their mandate reclaim the world for Bunker Ascendant.
It is my view that a FEF candidate is a good candidate and I would gladly follow them all, yes including Quinn who in this is my running rival, but upon the surface we are one team with one goal one vision one mission!
Captain James Hook, I organise things and get the job done.
Sophie Jones really had the bit between her teeth with this one didn’t she?
