Though outwardly somewhat archaic looking, scans confirm a 96% probability armour is a Nanite-Based Ballistic Attack Interception System (NBAIS), a theorised technology from before the End.

The NBAIS is comprised of a blend of nanotechnology and real-time tracking to provide near-instantaneous response to threats, revolutionizing advanced armour protective measures.

An in-built detection system utilizes miniaturized sensors, integrated into the advanced base armour layer to monitor the environment for ballistic threats. Once a ballistic threat is detected small ejection ports on the armour deploy nanites directly in the path of the incoming projectile.

The stored nanites are designed with the primary function of adhering to the projectile’s surface, subsequently altering its trajectory or effectiveness. Using kinetic absorption materials, the nanites can dramatically reduce the projectile’s impact energy.

NBAIS is effective against a range of projectile types, from bullets to larger ordinance, including railgun ammunition and grenades. Given that nanites operate at a microscopic level, they can also repair minor damage inflicted to the armour.

Scans confirm an 89% probability that the blend of nanotech, sensors, and fast deployment mechanisms can be expensive in resources and challenging to maintain.

Scans also confirm an internalised power source; the NBAIS armour does not require an independent C7 power generator. There is a 91% probability that the Coltan within the armour’s construction allows for a more advanced retention of electrical charge thus requiring a smaller power source.

The NBAIS presents a groundbreaking approach to defence. While challenges exist, especially concerning the system’s complexity, the advantages it offers in terms of proactive defence make it a promising avenue for further research and development.
